Show me light, show me life
My heart is in deep agony
And the whole world must have heard our story,
Our painful journey and hopeless cry for justice
Fragile and helpless we are
That for being voiceless and powerless we're taken advantage of
It's sad we go through what we don't deserve
Where is humanity?
They are just kids who hardly know how to say "ma"
Women whose rights have been undermined for a long time
Treated like slaves and meant to believe that their place is the kitchen
They are young boys and girls, who if given a chance would have brought us close to the world
They're struggling fathers who walk barefoot under the scorching sun
They tirelessly work to feed their families
What did these innocent souls do to deserve all these?
They have been made orphans, raped and some are homeless
They have been left widows and widowers
They were mercilessly butchered and made to live in fear
They have lost hope in the value of life
They have been made to fight against each other
They are denied peace.
