We were all created by the almighty God in his own image not withstanding our races, colour, gender or ethnic affiliations. The sole purpose of our existence is to pro-create, care for the environment, provide a conducive environment for co-existence among ourselves. The majority of us is aware of the two important creatures on earth, the man and his helper, the woman. Each year different societies will organize forums, campaigns and demonstrations to advocate for either protection or empowerment of a given gender. Such are the activities that most of us will celebrate on social media, print media or mass media which to me is a necessary indulgence in this man eat money society. However, we are quickly missing a mark as far as moral stabilization and maintenance of human virtues is concerned. Yes, it is true that we cannot live without love but why are we portraying cannibalistic traits when the love is turning sour? Is it because we are holier than the wrong doers or is it because we are are the rightful judges of our fellow human beings?
A young promising man approaches a lady, proposes to her and seeks her hand in marriage with optimism that they will both live happily, sire and raise children, create wealth and enjoy life to the brim of fulfillment.Barely one year into their sacred rite, the woman starts seeking 'better' drinking pans because according to her,the husband does not fulfill her desires and the pre-marriage promises are yet to bear fruits. Her elegance and well endowed body becomes the prey for deep pocketed, unfaithful and old men who are even older than her biological father. This will later anger the young man who toils day and night to feed the wife and results to either a divorce, separation and in more devastating situations may cause suicide or homicide. We have heard, witnessed or read of stories where brutality from angry men has led to amputation or death of young women. The majority of us,mostly men will then blame women of their infidelity and shield the perpetrator who in this case is a man who has either crippled or killed somebody's daughter. Some jealous women who are really eyeing for such opportunities will also turn their wrath on the deceased or maimed woman while our social media platforms will be full of insults, ridicule and disrespect even towards the deceased and this to me is trying to complement two wrongs to make a right where the second wrong will be a right to many.
We appreciate others when they seem to be right in their actions but when they slip even with an inch we condemn them as if they are worse than the devil. When a husband sacrifices his time and provides for the family,he is loved by many but when he commits adultery, his wife plans for him death either by committing the heinous crime by herself or hiring killers for him.The husband gets killed and the wife's family defends their own accusing the man of many bad things and the story heats up  for a few weeks,we debate on who was wrong and who was right but the most painful thing is that life has been lost. We are people who don't value lives and we are ready to justify the cause of deaths by trivial reasoning forgetting that our sons, daughters, friends, mothers, brothers and sisters can be victims of our premature justification of brutality. It pains me a lot and disturbs my conscience prompting me to plead to all of us to value human life first before we streamline errors made in the human life itself.Let us remember that when a cow ceases to produce milk as it did before we don't kill the cow instead, we provide better food to it, deworm it and even seek veterinary services. I am not advocating for any moral degradation instead am advocating for restoration and understanding of humanity because before GOD no wrong is greater than the other.
